I would like you to know about Laura Hansen.
Laura is a great friend and example to me. I came to know Laura in 2009. My family and I had just moved from Hawaii to Syracuse, New York. We were staying in a hotel while trying to find housing when we met her and her family at church. She was so kind and invited our family, who were complete strangers, to come live with them until we found a place to rent. She was so very kind and generous. They helped us find a house to rent and ever since then we have been dear friends.
Laura and I spent a lot of time in the car together driving back and forth from Palmyra, NY. It was during those drives that I learned the most about her. She is one of the most committed, loyal and self-sacrificing women I have ever met. Even during trials and heart ache she stays positive and always searches for the good in situations and people. She is faithful and true at all times especially to her family and her religion.
Laura is an exceptional mother. She has five adult children now and stays in contact with each of them daily. She is their biggest cheerleader and voice of reason, guiding them to make positive choices and encouraging them every step of the way. She also mothered many of the youth in our inner-city church, taking them home for meals and even providing a place to sleep occasionally. She tried to help them find a way to succeed even though they were in disadvantaged circumstances. Laura is definitely a champion of all people. She will help anyone any time and is very encouraging in helping people to find and reach their potential.
She is quick at learning and is not afraid to try new things. She is also an adventurer and loves to travel and experience different cultures. She is just a well-rounded person that is capable of accomplishing anything she sets her mind to.

I would like you to know about Laura Hansen. I have known Laura and her family for many, many years. What I would like you to know is that she has an extraordinary large number of wonderful qualities. I can say this based on personal observation and knowledge.
Laura is a very thoughtful, compassionate and empathetic individual. She has an incredible ability to stay focused on an objective and stay committed to its completion. I have seen her exhibit these qualities whether she was engaged in a project around her home or managing the affairs of her family. She seems to have a tireless ability to stay on task despite a world of interferences going on around her.
Despite her tireless activities she always seems to have time to visit with and help others. Of the many things I could continue to say about her, the one that I feel the best about is that I can call her my friend.

I would like you to know about Laura Hansen:
Laura has been my friend for approximately 15 years. In that time, we have walked, talked and supported each other. I admire her dedication to her family. She has supported her husband in his career, while he finished his schooling when their children were growing up and with his Scout Master responsibilities; to name a few things. Laura and her husband Greg have 5 children, 4 sons and a daughter. She has encouraged her children to be the best that they can be. All of her boys are Eagle Scouts and her daughter received the highest Young Women’s award that our church sponsors. Her children have graduated from college and each have respectable careers. She also has encouraged them to excel in activities that help them to be well rounded, for example her daughter has taken voice and piano lessons and is successful with both.
Laura is always learning. She has most recently graduated from the University of Utah obtaining a bachelor’s degree. This is a goal that she has had for quite some time. She put her goal on the back burner until all of her children were grown. She has been interested in Web Design, Genealogy, as well as many crafting talents. Laura is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She takes the time to show compassion to her neighbors and fulfill her church responsibilities.
Whatever Laura does she puts her whole heart into it and does it well.
Laura loves to travel and has been to many places all over the world. Laura has had her fair share of hard times and challenges. I have watched her face these times with a positive attitude and determination to conquer.
It has been my privilege to call Laura my friend!

Laura Hansen is a friend, co-mediator, and former classmate, and I would like you know a few things about her.
Laura is diligent and hard working. When I met her, she was a full-time student at the University of Utah. Laura and I took the Master’s Certificate Conflict Resolution Course together. She is also a mother, along with many other responsibilities. Even though class ended late at night, Laura always attended class and was fully prepared and she never complained as she anticipated the long train ride home. When our course ended and we considered taking the Divorce Mediation training, it was Laura who researched all the information and understood the necessary requirements to complete that training. She made a thoughtful and well informed decision about what would be best for her circumstances. Laura was more than willing to share the knowledge she gained which allowed me to complete the divorce training as well.
Laura is a calming force in chaos. She has a unique ability to bring a sense of order when emotions are high and unstable. She speaks with a quiet authority that requires others to listen in ways they may not have previously. When I co-mediate with Laura, her ability to remain calm in all circumstances allows her to think through the situation and ask questions that point us in a clear and productive direction.
Laura is kind; to others and to herself. I have been with Laura in educational, professional, and personal circumstances. In all areas of her life, Laura shows genuine concern for those around her. She does this by listening with intent and asking questions that allow her to understand the person to whom she is speaking so she can respond with intent. Laura knows her boundaries, she knows what she wants and is confident enough to express her needs. I greatly admire her skill when balancing her wants with the wants of others.
I have a tremendous respect for Laura. She has been, and continues to be, a good influence in my life and for those with whom she comes in contact. I have no reservations in recommending her for anything she chooses to do and hope you will give her your full consideration.

To Whom it May Concern,
I would like you to know about Laura Hansen. One of the things that impressed me first and foremost about Laura is that she has a special way of creating a calm, peaceful environment. She has a quiet, yet authoritative presence that makes you feel that you are in good hands. This gift is especially noteworthy because mediation clients are often feeling the opposite of peaceful when they arrive. I have seen nervous, agitated people go into a room with her and come out looking and acting much more calm and reassured. Any mediator that can have this effect on people is going to find success and I truly believe this trait in Laura will help her find success.
In addition to her calming presence, Laura communicates in a clear, concise, and emotionally supportive way. She shows no bias, yet makes each party feel that they are heard and validated. Her thoughts and questions are offered in an unassuming manner that invites participation and encourages cooperation. Her style sets an example of behavior for those in the room to follow.
I truly enjoy Laura’s friendship and have always seen her as genuine and kind. I think her personality is a great fit for mediation and see some of her traits as ones that I would like to develop in myself. She’s a great example to me, and will be an asset to her clients.

I have been asked to share some thoughts on Mrs. Laura Hansen and it is with genuine enthusiasm that I do so. Laura is a neighbor and friend with whom I associate in the context of a religious congregation. While her current responsibilities in that congregation are different from my own, she and I have shared the challenge and opportunity to teach adult students in that congregation in the past. As both a fellow teacher, and as a student sitting in on her lessons, I have had many opportunities to witness or interact with Laura and find the following things to be worthy of particular note:
First, Laura is a dedicated learner. In this religious setting, additional effort to understand lesson materials is strictly optional, particularly for a student. As an instructor, more is required but, again, the dedication amongst teachers varies as well. As both student and instructor, Laura stands out as one who makes that additional, optional effort every time. She is thoughtful and provides unique insight to the class which rewards all those who attend. Such could not be accomplished absent a dedicated effort on her part to study and apply the materials, which many appear unable or unwilling to do.
Second, Laura is bold in that she is not fearful of voicing her views. This manifests confidence, but not arrogance. An instructor appreciates student input and she is quick to give it, which can be challenging for many. Laura knows when she has something of value to add, and I commend her for her willingness to do that time and time again.
Finally, Laura is sincere. Particularly in a religious setting, some are willing to pass themselves off as something they are not. In my mind, the opposite is true with Laura. Her lessons and comments in class reflect sincerity as to her experience and what she desires to learn in the future. As is the case with us all, Laura's qualities described above still leave room to grow, but I am confident that she absolutely has the capacity to do exactly that.

I have known Laura for the past 3 years and she is someone that does not fear doing hard things. She is constantly seeking to try new things and be better in all that she does. I have noticed that when she is uncomfortable with a task she doesn't back away. Instead, she does her research and looks for ways to accomplish the difficult project.
Laura is a good neighbor. It is very clear that she wants to be a good citizen and a benefit to her community. She is also a supportive wife and a loving mother.

I have known Laura for nearly 20 years. I have worked with and observed her in many different situations over the years. She possesses many skills that I admire.
One of her greatest skills is the ability to organize and track details. Laura served as the Scout Committee Chair for a troop for several years as our boys moved through the scouting program together. It was a large troop with 20 plus boys in it. Laura tracked each young man and his advancements to insure that they were progressing toward becoming an Eagle Scout. She was a driving force behind many of these young men becoming Eagle Scouts.
Laura is also an incredibly hard worker. We were next-door neighbors for many years. She was always in the middle of whatever project the family was doing whether it was a construction job, yard work or home repairs. She also played a key role in preparing all the logistics for Scout camp in assisting her husband, who was the Scoutmaster. She never shirked at any task.
She is also a compassionate, kind person. Laura was always inclusive and never spoke ill of anyone. She was always willing to lend a hand and help others in need. Compassion is a unique skill and one that differentiates people.
I can whole-heartedly recommend Laura for anything for which she is being considered. She will always work hard, accomplish what needs to be done, and make those around her better for having associated with her.

To whom it may concern,
I have known Laura since back in high school. (Wow, yes that is a long time ago :).
I have always been impressed with her strong commitment to her health and sticking with her exercise programs. Way back when, when her kids were small, she was so good at being goal oriented and committed to her exercising (this is a huge accomplishment in my eyes, as I’ve always struggled with this). It has always impressed me how Laura has been so persistent in whatever she put her mind to achieving.
I love the way Laura has always been a dedicated mom to her kids and an amazing wife to Greg. She has always doted on them and been there for each of them as they grew and entered adulthood. She is one of the best examples of a mom that I know.
Thank you for being such a shining example to all of your family and friends Laura. I’m so happy we’ve remained friends all these years.
